Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend...........

..........inside of a dog, it's too dark to read. Groucho Marx

I love books.
I have recently finished Eat, Pray, Love which totally changed my life.
I had to buy a copy so I could re-read it and then read it again, mark in it, and dog ear it.

I'm currently reading The Time Traveler's Wife, and it's taking me a long time.  We just seem to be stuck in time.

The Pioneer Woman posted a poll about favorite books.  Here is the list and the number of people who said that book was their favorite.  I've read quite a few of these.  My goal is to read the ones I haven't.  If I can stand it.  I'm not really sure I can stomach any more Harry Potters or Twilights.  And there is a couple that I have extreme little interest in reading.  This feat may take the rest of my life considering I am an extremely slow reader and I fall asleep after 6 minutes.

I've highlighted the ones I've read in green.

Which of these is your favorite, if any?
Which one should I tackle first?

Good friends, good books and a sleepy conscience: this is the ideal life. ~Mark Twain

I'd start with The Red Tent or The Hobbit. I've tried reading Pillars of the Earth a half dozen times and just can't do it...The Notebook is an easy read and it seems The Poisonwood Bible was weird, but I may have it confused with something else. Oh, The Great Gatsby is good too, but didn't you read that in high school? Have Fun! Should I read, Eat, Pray, Love?

Yes!! you should read eat, pray, love. It's a great book once you get into it. I don't think I read Gatsby in H.S., maybe I was supposed to. I'm probably the only woman in the world that can't stand Nicholas Sparks. I've tried to read the notebook....boring!

Lisa, I think this list is a good place to start if you love a good read, and yes you must read Eat, Pray, Love....it isn't Christian, but it's spiritual.

Eat, Pray, Love is an awesome book! I have a lot of favorites, but right now I really like The Book of Negroes. It is very well written and so captivating, I can guarantee you won't want to put it down.
